High Performance goalies benefited from NHL and OHL experience

This years High Performance Camp was huge success on all levels.

This camp was an invitation to our goalies who have shown a year round high commitment level to their training. We wanted to create a training camp that pushed them within their “out of comfort” zone and challenge their determination to achieve their goals.

At the end of the 4-day camp…all the participants felt our “training goal” was a huge success.

In addition to the on-ice, off-ice and video review training elements the goalies also benefited from the experienced insight of two guest speakers who bring with them OHL and NHL experience in making decisions in the player selection process. The camp participants took part in an open forum seminar that provided insight and opened the opportunity to ask questions about NCAA and OHL options.

We want to thank Frank Robinson, Head Coach of the Jr. A Whitby Fury and scout of the OHL Saginaw Spirit along with Jeff Twohey (picture to left), former GM of the OHL Peterborough Petes and currently scouts for the NHL Phoenix Coyotes.

Both speakers provided valuable insight along with many stories into the intangible qualities such as Mental Strength and Character that are critically important in being identified as an athlete with potential.

All the athletes met each challenge that was presented to them throughout the week and they should be congratulated for their commitment and dedication to getting prepared for their season.

We would like to give a special recognition to 3 of our goalies that will be attending Junior Camps this August. This will be the next challenging level and they are all ready to perform.

Bryan Raymond, 16 yrs, OHL Sudbury Wolves

Riley Turner, 16 yrs, Jr. A Temiscaming Titans

Avery Allen, 17 yrs, OHL Owen Sound Attack
